  |   SUN Civil Society Network, SUN Country Network

From 1 to 3 August 2017, Focus 1000 and the Sierra Leone Scaling up Nutrition Secretariat held a workshop with journalists from electronic and print media across the country, to build their capacity to report on nutrition. The workshop included the investment case for scaling up nutrition, inspirational content for human interest stories and the sharing of ideas on communication during times of crisis.

For us to succeed, it starts by working together to bring social change… SUN has inspired a new way of working collaboratively to improve health and end malnutrition”

Dr Mohamed Foh, National Coordinator at the Scaling up Nutrition (SUN) Secretariat

Lead Facilitator, Nance Webber, a communication specialist, informed media practitioners that 82% of the country’s population lives in poverty, especially in rural communities, and that it is important to collectively identify and address bottle necks to social change, through the media.

Focus 1000 is a non-governmental organisation in Sierra Leone and co-chairs the Sierra Leone Civil Society Platform on SUN and Immunisation with Hellen Keller International.
