The Government has renewed its efforts to deliver nutrition-specific interventions. Under the Government’s Health, Population and Nutrition Sector Development Program 2011-2016, nutrition has been mainstreamed into the health sector. The National Nutrition Services in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare delivers a comprehensive nutrition package through the community clinics as the first point of contact with the health system at upazila, district and tertiary levels.

- Mainstreaming nutrition in all service delivery points through the regular channels of the Directorate General of Health Services and the Directorate General of Family Planning;
- Reduction of the prevalence of malnutrition among the people of Bangladesh with special emphasis on the children, women, adolescents and underprivileged section of the society; and
- Expand training of staff on management of severe malnutrition from 25% of the health facilities to 50% by June 2013.
