SUN Movement mobilizing in response to global food and nutrition crisis:  Peer to peer exchange and learning from SUN country approaches.

The world is experiencing an unprecedented food and nutrition crisis. The impact of the ongoing conflict continues to threaten fragile food and nutrition security globally, especially in vulnerable countries. The effect of the conflict is expanding beyond the borders of Ukraine and Russia, triggering hunger and malnutrition across countries. Globally, 1.7 billion people — one-third of whom are already living in poverty — are now highly exposed to disruptions in food, energy, and finance systems. These shocks have necessitated countries to start responding to the global food and nutrition crisis and developing innovative solutions to sustain and advance the progress made on national nutrition goals.

In response, the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement has mobilized in support of those impacted. This includes holding four 90-minute regional nutrition exchange dialogues aimed at sharing the experiences of countries and ideas on how to increase visibility, commitment and action on nutrition for countries in Anglophone Africa, Francophone Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. The dialogues also served to highlight national-level efforts in addressing the food and nutrition crisis.
