The SUN Movement Executive Committee welcomes two new members
The SUN Movement is pleased to welcome Jo Moir and Christelle Huré on the SUN Movement Executive Committee. The two new members join at a critical moment when the Executive Committee is shaping and preparing for the third phase of the SUN Movement.
Jo Moir, joining from the SUN Movement Donor Network, is the Deputy Director for Human Development at DFID, covering health systems, sexual and reproductive health and rights, WASH and Nutrition. She is working with colleagues across DFID to spearhead the UK’s commitment to ending preventable deaths of mothers, new-borns and children. In addition to the SUN Movement Executive Committee, she is a member of the Global Financing Facility’s (GFFs) Investors Group and Trust Fund Committee and she is a member of the Reference Group of Family Planning 2020 (FP2020). She has experience with DFID programs in Ethiopia, Sudan, Libya and Egypt.
Christelle Huré is the Head of Advocacy for Action Against Hunger’s regional office for West and Central Africa (ACF ROWCA) and joins the Executive Committee from the SUN Movement Civil Society Network. She is supervising the coordination of the regional SUN civil society platform. Christelle has worked with ACF since 2013 and held different positions in relation to advocacy, including as Senior Nutrition Security Advocacy Advisor. She has strong connections to SUN Civil Society Alliances (CSA) and has supported the development of several alliances, especially in francophone Africa. She has represented ACF in the SUN Civil Society Network Steering Group and is well placed to bring CSA voices to the global level.
In addition to welcoming our new Executive Committee members, we would like to express our gratitude to Nicola Brennan from Irish Aid and Uma Koirala from the Civil Society Alliance for Nutrition in Nepal, who are stepping down from the Executive Committee, for their continuous efforts, commitment and support to the SUN Movement.
The Executive Committee of the SUN Movement is a key part of the stewardship arrangements and comprises all stakeholder groups of the SUN Movement (SUN Country Focal Points, Civil Society, Private Sector, Donors and United Nations). On behalf of the SUN Lead Group they oversee the general development and implementation of the SUN Movement Strategy and will lead on developing a strategy for the next phase of the SUN Movement for approval by the Lead Group.
