The 10th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme Partnership Platform (CAADP PP) meeting held from 18 – 22 March, came at a critical reflection moment with 2014 declared as the Year of Agriculture and Food Security as well as the commemoration of 10 years since CAADP was endorsed by the AU Assembly.

The CAADP PP is an annual high-level event that brings together key stakeholders including African governments, policy makers, technical bodies, civil society organizations and farmers’ organizations to assess the progress made in implementing the CAADP agenda and to refresh the course of action where required.

The outcomes of the 10th CAADP PP will feed in to a Joint Conference of African Ministers of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Rural Development scheduled for 28th April to 2nd May 2014 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

CAADP has also launched a revamped site, including a mobile friendly platform allowing for much larger reach globally to transform Africa’s agriculture for wealth creation, sustained food security & nutrition & socio-economic growth.

The Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition is an independent group of 12 expert members, they addressed the CAADP PP with a video highlighting the key role for agriculture in addressing malnutrition
