Elisa Gamero

Biography

Elisa Gamero leads and coordinates health and nutrition policies, programs, and projects for the Office of the First Lady of El Salvador. She is deeply involved in transforming the health system, with a focus on ensuring that every child and youth can reach their full potential through comprehensive health and well-being initiatives.

With over 12 years of experience in social and economic development programs across several Latin American countries, Elisa has become a strong advocate for ending all forms of malnutrition in El Salvador and the region. Her notable achievements include spearheading the creation of critical laws such as 'Nacer con Cariño' (Born with Love), which promotes respectful childbirth and sensitive care for newborns, and 'Amor Convertido en Alimento' (Love Transformed into Food), which aims to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding.
