From the 3rd – 5th June 2015, the 3rd International Symposium on Food and Nutrition (ISFAN) was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event brought together nearly 1,000 participants including nutrition, health and food professionals, practitioners, professors, researchers, program managers and implementers, as well as students from Indonesia and aboard.
ISFAN 2015 was organised by the Food and Nutrition Society of Indonesia (PERGIZI PANGAN Indonesia) as a nutrition and food expert association, in collaboration with; the South East Asia Public Health Nutrition Network (SEA-PHAN), Federation on Asian Nutritionist Societies (FANS), and International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS), and in collaboration with Indonesia Drugs and Food Control Agency of Indonesia (BPOM), Indonesian Tempo Forum (FTI), Association of Nutrition Higher Education Institution of Indonesia (AIPGI), Food and Beverages Producers Association (GAPMMI), and Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).
The event was themed FOOD AND NUTRITION FOR SUSTAINABLE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING and was based on the following objectives:
- To disseminate current issues, sciences and innovations on food and nutrition
- To learn success stories and challenges of food and nutrition programs
- To maintain nutrition professional and nutrition higher education networking
