Bangladesh PM calls for more research in food and nutrition security

On 2^nd May 2015, Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina called upon agriculture scientists to intensify their research to ensure food and nutrition security for all. The Prime Minister was addressing a function at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agriculture University in Gazipur which marked the university’s 16th founding anniversary.

Multiple Ministers and Members of Parliament also attended with the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr M Mahbubur Rahman Chairing the event. The Prime Minister, who is also a member of the SUN Movement Lead Group, laid the foundation stone of the Agriculture, Economics and Rural Development Faculty Buidling and renewed her pledge to build Bangladesh as a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed country by 2041.
