A validation workshop for the Multisectoral Strategic Nutrition Plan (PSMN) 2016-2020, led by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, took place in Burkina Faso on 10-11 May 2017.

The workshop was attended by around 60 delegates from key sectors (health, food security, social protection, education, WASH, gender, trade and economy), regional directorates and technical and financial partners including the UN/REACH global network and various SUN Movement networks.

The PSMN is an ambitious document that aligns with the nutrition objectives of the National Economic and Social Development Plan (PNDES) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the workshop, delegates reviewed the various sections of the PSMN, with a particular focus on budgeting. At the end of the group work sessions, all sectors and stakeholders approved the plan.

The next steps include finalizing the PSMN costing process, based on observations from workshop delegates, and producing technical documentation in advance of a partner conference to mobilize resources for PSMN implementation.
