Civil society in Madagascar unites all SUN actors at a high level event

From 16 – 17 November 2016, the civil society platform for nutrition in Madagascar (Plateforme HINA), in partnership with the National Office for Nutrition and Action Contre la Faim, organised an event that brought together actors from across sectors for two days of celebration, sharing and learning.

High level guests inaugurate the event with a joint ribbon cutting, followed by a visit to exhibition stands before the event was opened to the public. From left to right: A representative from the National Nutrition Office, a representative from the Senate of Madagascar, the special advisor to the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Platforme HINA and the deputy representative of the World Food Programme in Madagascar.

From 16 – 17 November 2016, the civil society platform for nutrition in Madagascar (Plateforme HINA), in partnership with the National Office for Nutrition and Action Contre la Faim, organised an event that brought together nutrition champions from across the country for two days of celebration, sharing and learning.

The event was held under the auspices of the Prime Minister and in addition to government, United Nations and donor participants, the formalised “Plateforme MIKASA” for researchers and “Plateforme ANJARAMASOANDRO” for the private sector were key groups to attend.


… we will conclude on a small note of hope by calling on all donors and all stakeholders, partners and the government to be involved in the fight against malnutrition, in order to build a world where no one will is left behind and where no child in the world suffers from hunger and malnutrition “

Plateforme HINA shared their experiences and showcased results from recent budget analaysis undertaken by the government of Madagascar to determine levels of nutrition related public finances. The exhibition saw an overwhelming 2,000 visitors over the two days.
