On 13 March 2014, the Republic of Costa Rica became the 50th country to commit to scaling up nutrition with the SUN Movement. The government has been making efforts to improve the health of the population through strengthening nutrition programs and surveillance systems nationwide. This has resulted in a decrease in chronic undernutrition nationwide and the country is resolved to continue making progress.
