On 10 March, a national level celebration was held in Adzopé, a town located 100 kilometres east of Abidjan, with the First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire, Dominique Ouattara. The First Lady took advantage of the ceremony to affirm her confidence in the potential of her sisters to fight poverty and to be actors of development. She materialised her faith by making an additional 200 million CFA francs available to women of the four Departments of the Me region, within the framework of the Support Fund for the Women of Côte d’Ivoire (FAFCI),  funding 2,000 additional projects. This extension, in addition to the 450 million CFA francs initially granted to the women of this region, will enable 2,000 other women to undertake income-generating activities.
