On 17 November 2014, ahead of the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2), the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) launched a comprehensive pocketbook of nutrition related data.

The pocketbook covers all regions of the world and is a pocket-sized compendium of the state of nutrition worldwide. The data includes trends on micronutrient deficiencies, obesity and non-communicable diseases from 1990 to the present. The pocketbook also offers indicators on the links between nutrition, health and the environment. Readers can also access the pocketbook on mobile devices through an app to find data on food prices, food consumption, agriculture-related carbon emissions and land use, among others.
