ANH Academy Week

ProgramFrom 20-24 June 2016, the first Agriculture, Nutrition and Health (ANH) Academy Week was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The ANH Academy Week builds on Leverhulme Centre (LCIRAH) conferences previously held in London, CGIAR Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH) activities and Innovative Methods and Metrics for Agriculture and Nutrition Action (IMMANA).

Over five days, the global community of interdisciplinary researchers and research-users working at intersection of agriculture, health and nutrition, convened to learn, share and strengthen collaborative partnerships with the goal of improving nutrition and health. By taking place in Ethiopia, the groundbreaking event successfully increased the participation of Africa based researchers.

The Scaling Up Nutrition In Practice Brief “From Science to Action: Academia and Decision-Makers Unite in SUN Countries” was launched at the event with a presentation by Tesfaye Hailu of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute, a key contributor to the In Practice Brief and Sergio Teixiera from the SUN Movement Secretariat.

The ANH Academy Week is planned to be an annual event that facilitates learning and sharing among the global community researchers working on agriculture and food systems for improved nutrition and health.

The organisers announced the 2017 ANH Academy Week will take place in South Asia.
