Hitting the airwaves: Zambia SUN Civil Society Alliance, World Vision and the National Food and Nutrition Commission spread the word about breastfeeding

The Zambia Civil Society Scaling-Up Nutrition Alliance (CSO-SUN Alliance) organized two radio programs in collaboration with World Vision’s Child Health Now Campaign and the National Food and Nutrition Commission (NFNC).  On 13^th August, 2013 William Chilufya (Zambia CSO-SUN Alliance Coordinator) joined a radio panel with Ms Chitibwa Chifunda from World Vision and Ms Eustina Mulenga Besa from NFNC. A second radio programme was held on 14^th August 2013. These programmes aimed to highlight the importance of breastfeeding and having the environments to enable this essential practice – as major elements to addressing malnutrition.

In addition, the Zambia CSO-SUN Alliance together with World Vision drafted a full page newspaper article entitled Promoting Breastfeeding as a Child Survival Strategy which ran in two Zambian newspapers, the Post Newspapers and the Daily Nation,  the newspaper piece  accessed here and here.
