The International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN) sent a discussion paper to Dr. David Nabarro, SUN Coordinator and others in the SUN Movement on 25 November. The paper outlines six fundamental concerns with the SUN Movement Strategy and makes seven recommendations.

On behalf on Mr. Anthony Lake, Chair of the SUN Lead Group and Dr. David Nabarro a letter of response was sent to Patti Rundall, Policy Director of Baby Milk Action, on 27 November. The letter sets out the principles of the SUN Movement including a focus on the empowerment of women so that they are in a position to breastfeed and ensure optimal feeding of their infants and children at least until their second birthday.

The IBFAN discussion paper was revised slightly and is now posted on the IBFAN website.
