Launch of the SUN UN Network: Coming together to enhance cooperation in global fight against malnutrition

The UN System Network for Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) held its first meeting in Africa from 26-28 August in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together experts from various UN agencies working on the continent to drive forward the fight against undernutrition.

The UN System Network for Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) held its first meeting in Africa from 26-28 August in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together experts from various UN agencies working on the continent to drive forward the fight against undernutrition.

The UN system plays a key role in collectively supporting the process to scale up nutrition in countries. The UN System Network for SUN is one of the five Networks of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement. It is an interagency platform that facilitates joint UN action in nutrition at global, regional and country levels. It is intended to bolster on-going UN efforts to respond upon request to the needs of countries committed to address nutrition challenges.

The first meeting of the UN System Network for the SUN Movement took place in Nairobi, Kenya, on 26 – 28 August 2013. This meeting saw the official launch of the UN System Network for SUN. Click here to read more.
