From 1 – 7 August 2015, the World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated by mothers in Vietnam with their participation in setting a domestic record for mass breastfeeding. Over 1,000 mothers in three major cities participated in the event (440 mothers in Hanoi, 590 mothers in Ho Chi Minh City, and 181 mothers in Can Tho). These mothers simultaneously fed their babies in order to promote the importance of breastfeeding.

“Breast milk is a precious source of nutrition for infants. That’s why we organise this event,” – Nguyen Tuan Hai, Northern Regional Executive Manager, Vietnam Dairy Joint Stock company.
