In August 2014, as part of National Nutrition Month, the National Nutrition Centre (NNC) in the Ministry of Health of Myanmar broadcast a short film to educate the public about the importance of the thousand day window from conception through to two years of age. The NNC produced the video with support from Save the Children International, who host the national SUN Civil Society Alliance. The video was created through Save the Children’s LEARN project, funded by the Livelihoods and Security Trust Fund (LIFT), and NNC, using the One Thousand Days format. The local language was used to ensure key messages would reach as many communities as possible and was broadcast on free-to-air television. The video stressed the importance of good nutrition for children from pregnancy through to their second birthday, which gives them the ability to grow, learn and reach their full potential. The video continues to be used at awareness raising events by both the NNC and the SUN Civil Society Alliance.
