Namibia Making Progress in Scaling Up Nutrition

Last week, the Government of Namibia and UNICEF hosted an event to highlight the efforts needed to continue to fight hunger and inequalities nation-wide.

Last week, the Government of Namibia and UNICEF hosted an event to highlight the efforts needed to continue to fight hunger and inequalities nation-wide. The event was attended by celebrated Global Chidlren’s Advocate and Child Rights Advocate Graca Machel, who commended Namibia’s progress and efforts in scaling up nutrition and reducing stunting. Currently, nearly 30% of children under five are stunted in Namibia.  “Namibia’s progress has been remarkable on economic growth and several social development fronts, but there are still disparities and high rates of chronic malnutrition among children under five,” said Machel.  Read more via ReliefWeb.
