The Partnerships Playbook is endorsed as a Global Partnership Initiative at the HLM2
The Partnerships Playbook has been endorsed as a Global Partnership Initiative (GPI) of the GPEDC. One of three new initiatives, it joins a list of 28 GPIs that have been accepted by GPEDC as a voluntary, member-led commitment that advances development co-operation and helps turn global agreements into impact at the country-level.

On 30 November 2016, the Second High-Level Meeting (HLM2) of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) brought global leaders together in Nairobi, Kenya, to showcase successes and identify innovative approaches to development.
Day two included an Amphitheatre Session organised by the Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) initiative, the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Sanitation and Water for All (SWA), the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement and the Zero Hunger Challenge (ZHC). With the support of the Government of the Netherlands, the event aimed to promote principled partnership and included the official announcement of Partnerships Playbook as a Global Partnership Initiative (GPI) of the GPEDC. One of three new initiatives, it joins a list of 28 GPIs that have been accepted by GPEDC as a voluntary, member-led commitment that advances development co-operation and helps turn global agreements into impact at the country-level.
Moderated by Julie Gichuru, host of Africa Leadership Dialogues, speakers included Finance Minister Kamara of Liberia, Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, Chair of OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC), Christine Kintu, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister in Uganda, who is also the SUN Government Focal Point, Roelof Assies, general manager of Philips East Africa Ltd., Ruben Vellenga External relations UNFPA private sector and Trey Watkins from Every Woman Every Child. Common themes included leveraging partnerships to increase aid effectiveness in support of national efforts to achieve SDGs.
