On 4 September 2015, the provincial government of Benguet, in the Philippines, recognised local government units, schools and program frontliners who stood out in their implementation of nutrition programs with plaques and cash incentives. Awards were categorized as Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Program Implementer, Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) and Best Implementer of School Health and Nutrition Programs.
For first place, the Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Program Implementer went to Tublay, the Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholars award went to Magdalena T. Sacpa of Central, Kapangan for her initiatives in advancing the nutrition program in her community and the Best Implementer of School Health and Nutrition Programs went to Binga Elementary School in Itogon.
Every year, the provincial government earmarks funding for the monitoring and evaluation of local level plan implementation across local nutrition committees to boost their efforts in carrying out their nutrition programs. The Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team carried out the monitoring and evaluation of the 2014 nutrition program implementation including performance of Barangay Nutrition Scholars from April 16 to May 15, 2015 in the various municipalities.
