The Ministry of Health in collaboration with WFP and Save the Children on behalf of the UN Network and Civil Society Alliance organized a half day SUN Movement advocacy workshop on 22 February, bringing together 49 people from Ministries of Health, Education and General Instruction, Gender and Child Social Welfare, Agriculture, Water and Irrigation, along with Parliamentarians, Academia, UN agencies and NGOs, to discuss the way forward for the SUN Movement in South Sudan. The workshop oriented participants on the status of the SUN movement in South Sudan and led to the agreement of strategic priorities and the establishment of a Task Force to develop a concept note and a roadmap towards the development of a Multi-sectoral Nutrition Action Plan for South Sudan.

This was made possible thanks to the support of many committed individuals, especially the national REACH facilitator Mr. Shishay Tsadik (seconded by WFP), who supported the Acting SUN Government Focal Point in organizing this workshop. The SUN Movement Secretariat provided some advice and resources to help them prepare the workshop.

More information on the workshop can be found here. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Shishay TSADIK shishay.tsadik@wfp.org.
