On 16th March 2015, Sri Lanka’s Scaling Up Nutrition Forum organised a Global Nutrition Report launch in Colombo. The event was attended by multiple stakeholders including Rosy Senanayake, State Minister of Children’s Affairs, Rosy Senanayake. In her address to the audience, she announced a nutrition package for pregnant mothers which is due to be launched on 21 March 2015.

The package will directly go to the pregnant mothers and will be implemented through 7,000 midwives and 4,000 anti natal clinics located countrywide. She credits the strong implementation with Sri Lanka’s strong primary health care system at grass roots level.
