On 31 October 2015, the SUN-REACH Secretariat in Burundi organised a workshop with parliamentarians to draw their attention to ways they can help in educating Burundians in the fight against malnutrition. The meeting was attended by Eric Nshimirimana, the Deputy Chief of Cabinet of the Burundi Second Vice-President, Dr. Joseph Butore. He shared that Burundi is one of the most affected countries by malnutrition and that the issue of food security and nutrition fits well with the goals set in the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper, second generation, which states that the agricultural sector goal is to provide each Burundian adequate food quality and quantity, and reduce underweight.
