Teenagers talk malnutrition to government officials in Guatemala

On 7 May 2014, Guatemala teenage nutrition advocates held a talk with government officials and decision-makers, focused on ‘chronic malnutrition in the teen perspective‘ in the Guatemala Chamber of Commerce. The event was organised by the SUN civil society alliance in Guatemala: Scaling Up Nutrition Red de Sociedad Civil Guatemala.

The teenagers also presented a petition to the Secretary of Food and Nutrition Security with suggestions actions and highlighted the importance of a child’s first thousand days and the active participation of civil society with nutrition policies and plans.
