Theory of Change for Nutrition and Food Security workshop held in Nepal

On 21 February 2017, a two day workshop titled, “Theory of Change for Nutrition and Food Security: Preparation for Multi-sector Nutrition Plan (MSNP) II” was held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The workshop gathered 93 professionals from Nepal’s multistakeholder nutrition platform, spanning sectoral ministries and departments and representatives from donor agencies, UN agencies, development partners and civil society organizations.

On 21 February 2017, a two day workshop titled, “Theory of Change for Nutrition and Food Security: Preparation for Multi-sector Nutrition Plan (MSNP) II” was held in Kathmandu, Nepal.  The workshop gathered professionals from Nepal’s multistakeholder nutrition platform, spanning sectoral ministries and departments and representatives from donor agencies, UN agencies, development partners and civil society organizations.

The inaugural session of the workshop was chaired by Prof. Dr. Geeta Bhakta Joshi, Honorable Member of National Planning Commission; Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, Honorable Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission; Mr. Chandra Kumar Ghimire, Member Secretary of NPC; Mr Radhakrishna Pradhan, Joint Secretary (Social Development Division, NPCS); Her Excellency Rensje Teerink, EU Ambassador to Nepal; Tomoo Hozumi, Representative for UNICEF in Nepal and Shanda Steimer, Director, Office of Health and Education, USAID Nepal.

The workshop aimed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Assessment of MSNP progress status by sectors
  • Highlight on intervention and coverage of nutrition specific activities
  • Review and finalization of Theory of Change by sectors
  • Highlight Outline of the MSNP II
