From 1 – 7 August 2015, the World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated in Cambodia with University Forum on the first 1,000 days of a child’s life. The event was organised with the joint effort of World Vision’s Child Health Now, Helen Keller International and Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia. This forum included discussions between government and civil society on how the enforcement of legislations and policies – especially the sub-decree 133 – can have a fruitful impact on child nutrition across Cambodia.

Sub-Decree 133 and Joint Prakas 061 are solid legal frameworks of Cambodia to protect and promote breastfeeding, and stop marketing, promotion and labeling of breast milk substitutes that can mislead the public.
