On 7th April 2015, the World Health Organisation (WHO) recognised World Health Day with the theme “From farm to plate, make food safe”. This comes as new data is shared about the harm caused by foodborne illnesses and the threats it has on global safety. The day highlighted the challenges and opportunities associated with food safety and the need for coordinated, cross border action across the entire food supply-chain.
