Biography

With more than 20 years working experiences in the fields of administration, coordination in agricultural and rural development, food security and nutrition sector in the government institutions, and development partner agencies including 4 years in the Cabinet of the Minister as the Private Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), nearly 5 years in the Office of the Council of Ministers (OCM) as the Director of Administration and Finance Department of the Council for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD), 4 years in OCM as the Director of Administration Department of CARD and then has been promoted as the Deputy Secretary General of CARD in charge of Agriculture and Environment Department since August 2007. In addition to his current position, Dr. Sok Silo has been appointed as the advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries since August 2016.

In the field of Nutrition, Dr. Silo has been appointed as the Head of the Food Security and Nutrition Coordination Unit and member of the Technical Working Group on Social Protection, Food Security and Nutrition (TWG-SP&FSN) since January 2014, the Cambodian Government Focal Person for the Global Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement since July 2014 and the Zero Hunger Challenge Initiatives Focal Person in 2016.

Dr. Silo holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration in the fields of Economics in 1994, Master degree in Business Administration major in Finance in 2003, and Doctoral degree in Business Administration in 2009. Dr. Sok Silo brings an outstanding public relation, coordination, management, agriculture and rural development, food security and nutrition sector.
