Biography

 Dr. Farah is a seasoned expert with over 20 years of experience in food security, nutrition, and food systems. With a distinguished career marked by significant contributions to public health and food policy, Dr. Farah has played pivotal roles in shaping the landscape of food security and nutrition in Somalia and beyond.


Dr. Farah's career highlights include serving as the Former Director General at the Federal Ministry of Health, Somalia, where he spearheaded initiatives to enhance health outcomes and fortify the national healthcare system. Currently, he advises the Prime Minister on Food Systems, offering strategic counsel to bolster robust food systems for national food security. Additionally, Dr. Farah serves as the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Focal Point, orchestrating efforts to combat malnutrition and advance nutrition outcomes across diverse sectors and communities. Moreover, in his capacity as Food Systems Convener, he facilitates collaboration among various stakeholders to innovate sustainable, resilient, and equitable solutions for food systems enhancement.
