Biography

Ms. Kefilwe Roba Moalosi, a national of the Republic of Botswana, is a distinguished leader in the realm of nutrition and food safety, currently serving as the Project Manager and Senior Programme Officer under the Directorate of Agriculture, Food Security, and Environmental Sustainability at the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD). With over 20 years of extensive experience, Ms. Moalosi has become a pivotal figure in advancing nutrition, agriculture, and food security across the African continent.

Ms. Moalosi has played a critical role in shaping and implementing significant global and continental strategies aimed at enhancing food security and nutrition. Her expertise has been instrumental in the development and execution of key frameworks and strategies, including:

  • AUDA-NEPAD Nutrition and Food Systems Implementation Strategy (2019-2025): Ms. Moalosi spearheaded this comprehensive strategy, aimed at improving food systems and nutritional outcomes across Africa.
  • Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) and Post Malabo: She has been actively involved in this pivotal framework that seeks to transform agriculture and ensure food security on the continent.
  • Africa Food Safety Strategy: Her contributions have been crucial in formulating this strategy to ensure food safety standards are harmonized and upheld across African nations.

Ms. Moalosi has also led initiatives such as the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, which links local agricultural production with school meals, promoting both food security and educational outcomes.

Ms. Moalosi holds an MSc in Food Safety and Quality Management from the University of Greenwich, England, where she gained in-depth knowledge of food safety practices and quality control. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD in Food Technology and Biotechnology, focusing on advancing innovative solutions in food production and safety.
