Biography

Florence Sibomana is a medical doctor currently working at PATH as a Rwanda Senior Program Officer on NCDs. She is also a youth leader for nutrition and a board member of several organizations including the Rwanda Non-Communicable Disease Alliance, Save Generations Organization, and Rwanda Girls Guides Association. Florence has undertaken advocacy and development work around nutrition, sexual reproductive health rights, and non-communicable diseases with different organizations. She is pursuing her master’s degree in Global Health Delivery at the University of Global Health Equity.

In her role at PATH, Florence provides technical expertise to the Rwanda Biomedical Centre in strengthening primary healthcare systems in NCDs management. She coordinates the Healthy Heart Africa Programme, which focuses on building the capacity of healthcare workers through training, screening, diagnosing, and treating hypertensive and diabetic patients and promoting data use for effective decision-making and quality care delivery. Before joining PATH, Florence worked as a medical doctor at a district hospital in Rwanda for three years.

Florence holds a postgraduate diploma in Sexual Reproductive Health Medicine, and a bachelor’s degree in general medicine and surgery, and has won different awards for her work, including the Global health case competition that promoted a one-health approach. She is a committed advocate for women’s health and rights.
