Building a whole-society solution to malnutrition

Since joining the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement in 2013, Côte d'Ivoire has made #nutrition a national priority.

One tangible outcome of this coordinated strategy is the creation of over 2,365 community nutrition centres - Centres for Strengthening Community Nutrition Activities and Early Childhood Development (or ‘FRANC’ centres) - across the country, where 23,650 trained facilitators support mothers and children by teaching simple ways to boost health and nurture early childhood development.

These centers are a real-world translation of the SUN Movement’s multisectoral approach, bringing together government leadership, community action, and grassroots innovation to #PowerTheChange.
