Progress towards SUN 3.0 Strategic Objectives (SO)

SO.1

A sectoral plan and policies for nutrition are in place. Advocacy for the amendment of the International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes is ongoing. The Multisector Nutrition Plan III is in the process of formulation, and this will ensure a strong policy environment for meeting national and international nutrition priorities.

SO.2

The Multisector Nutrition Plan, the National Nutrition Strategy, the sectoral plan and policies and the country’s commitments from the Nutrition for Growth Summit 2021 and the United Nations Food System Summit 2021 are aligned with country priorities.

SO.3

Capacity-building is ongoing via training, orientation, on-site coaching and mentoring for implementers of the Multisector Nutrition Plan and nutrition governance structures at all levels.

SO.4

The nutrition governance structure under the Multisector Nutrition Plan promotes country leadership and guides the strengthening of mutual accountability. It also ensures the alignment of implemented activities and of resources mobilized by the Government and in-country stakeholders to achieve country priorities.
