Mobilizing and advocating for impact

The SUN 3.0 Strategy sets out four strategic objectives as reflected in the SUN strategy framework (theory of change) for 2021-2025. The first is to strengthen and sustain strong policy and advocacy environments at the sub-national, national, regional and global levels to position nutrition outcomes as a key maker and marker of sustainable development.

This will increase the likelihood of generating additional resources and political capital to accelerate nutrition improvement.

Illustrations of what success will look like in 2025:

  • Nutrition is embedded in National Development Plans
  • Country coordinator offices are established in high-level institutions within governments, where possible, such as Prime Minister’s Offices and ministries of planning
  • Significant policy/legislation is passed that enables effective nutrition action
  • All SUN stakeholders make commitments at the N4G Summit to support the new Strategy and to enhance efforts to implement it
