On 10 May 2014, the Ghana Coalition of Civil Society for Scaling Up Nutrition (GHACCSUN) led 3,000 nutrition champions to raise awareness of the importance of nutrition nationally and locally. Accompanied by a brass band, sound systems and floats the march covered 8km of Accra’s roads culminating in a rally for nutrition.

GHACCSUN organised a media training for journalists and a radio panel show on nutrition which offered listeners the opportunity to call in with questions and discussed key aspects of national nutrition as well as the activities of the GHACCSUN in Ghana.

The march and radio panel was followed by a 1,000 days of the child concert held at Tamale stadium which highlighted the importance of a child’s first 1,000 days from pregnancy through to their second birthday.
