Tajikistan Joins the SUN Movement

On 5 September 2013, Tajikistan became the 42nd country to commit to scaling up nutrition with the SUN Movement. Nearly 25% of children under age 5 in Tajikistan are stunted and food insecurity continues to challenge the population, particularly in rural areas. Citing these facts, and the recognition that malnutrition hampers economic development, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is beginning work on a cross-sector approach to improving nutrition.
