In June 2014, UK Department for International Development (DFID) shared the report ‘Nutrition for Growth: one year on’. The report provides an update on progress made by the United Kingdom government to reach commitments made at Nutrition for Growth in London on 8 June 2013.

Highlights of the report include the expansion of programmes in Africa and Asia to address the immediate and underlying causes of undernutrition. The report also reflects on the development of a number of new research partnerships to identify innovative solutions to this global challenge.

The Nutrition for Growth summit was hosted by the UK government, the Brazilian government and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. The summit produced a compact that pledged more than $4bn (£2.6bn) for nutrition programmes until 2020.
