Early warning system for food and nutrition security in Guatemala

The integrated early warning system in Guatemala is the only one in Central America related to early warning systems for food and nutritional security. It has inter-institutionally coordinated processes: the Ministry of Health's Nutritional Surveillance System, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food's Crop Monitoring System, and the Food and Nutritional Security Forecast led by the Food and Nutritional Security Secretariat. The system provides centralized access to various multisectoral reports resulting from the collaboration of several entities, in a single site, thus facilitating emergency response.
