February 2016: Quarterly summary of progress and activities across the SUN Business Network.

Recent events

• SUN Business Network Breakfast meeting at the 2016 World Economic Forum – Harnessing Business Solutions to Scale-Up Nutrition. The early morning breakfast event was held in World Food Programme tent and reviewed nutrition in the Sustainable Development Goals. A particular emphasis was given on how the role of business engagement can be strengthened to improve the supply of healthy foods to market, and to create an enabling and receptive environment for nutritious food products. • On 9 February 2016, the Government of Mozambique and the Department for International Development of the UK Government, with the support of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), launched a SUN Business Network with 19 private companies to support the country’s efforts towards Scaling Up Nutrition. Upcoming events

• A Nigeria SUN Business Network is under development and will be launched on 21 April 2016 in the Nigerian state of Lagos.

Publications

• The Guide to Business Engagement now available in English, Français, Español & português!

  The guide is aimed at SUN country stakeholders to help inform the development of local strategies to engage business in national nutrition priorities. The guide can be used as a resource to stimulate ideas and dialogue amongst local SUN teams about the potential role of business in local nutrition plans, in addition to supporting the development of local strategies and programmes
