During the 7th meeting of the SUN Movement Lead Group on Tuesday 5 May, a suite of recommendations delivered by a Visioning Sub Group (VSG) were endorsed, paving the way for the continuation of the Movement beyond 2015, with a renewed sense of ambition to achieve results.

The recommendations (English | Français | Españolstem from a visioning process initiated by the Lead Group at their meeting in September 2013, where the decision to commission an Independent Comprehensive Evaluation (ICE) was made. The evaluation began in June 2014 and was concluded in January 2015.

From January to April 2015, SUN countries, networks and the SUN Secretariat provided their response to the evaluation’s findings overseen by a team tasked by the VSG. Over 100 responses were received – with 50% of SUN countries providing input.

The recommendations contained in the document below are the outcome a of a long, thorough and consultative process which has sought to uphold the spirit and collaboration inherent in the SUN Movement and to provide guidance to ensure the Movement remains efficient, effective, relevant and sustainable.

An intensive period of work will now follow to ensure that the recommendations are put into practice, whilst the many diverse and ongoing efforts continue with renewed vigor across the SUN Movement.
