The Partnerships Playbook has been endorsed as a Global Partnership Initiative (GPI) of the GPEDC. One of three new initiatives, it joins a list of 28 GPIs that have been accepted by GPEDC as a voluntary, member-led commitment that advances development co-operation and helps turn global agreements into impact at the country-level.

Former Dutch politician Gerda Verburg recently took up the position of Coordinator of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement. We (SNV) recently spoke to her to learn about her work at SUN: a movement that inspires a new way of working collaboratively to end malnutrition, in all its forms.

From 20 to 22 November 2016, the Scaling Up Nutrition Civil Society Alliance in Pakistan (SUNCSA-Pak) launched the second phase of their #InvestInNutrition campaign with support from the Micronutrient Initiative. The campaign built on the success of the first phase of the campaign which was held in October to coincide with World Food Day and this second phase coincided with Universal Children’s Day.

From 7- 18 November 2016, the 22nd session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) was held in Marrakech, Morocco.

On 22 November 2016, a joint statement by the UN Special Rapporteurs on the Right to Food, Right to Health, the Working Group on Discrimination against Women in law and in practice, and the Committee on the Rights of the Child called for increased efforts to promote, support and protect breastfeeding.

From 17-18 November 2016, the SUN Movement Secretariat convened a workshop titled, “Strengthening the SUN Movement Support System” in Geneva, Switzerland. Participants included members of SUN Networks and the Movement’s technical and knowledge management support providers.
