On 7 October 2013, the Republic of the Congo became the 43rd country to commit to scaling up nutrition with the SUN Movement.

The latest report of the Right to Food and Nutrition Watch 2013 was published on 8 October and identifies a number of policies that generate hunger and malnutrition rather than reducing them. One of the articles in the report ‘The Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Initiative’ written by Claudio Schuftan and Ted Griener, sets out some risks that are perceived to exist within the Movement.

The Bangladesh Civil Society Network for Promoting Nutrition (BCSNPN) was created on 8 September 2012 and an official launch of this network took place at the CIRDAP auditorium on 19 December 2012. This ceremony brought together around 90 representatives from different ministries, parliament, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), National Nutrition Services (NNS), development partners, United Nations, international and local NGOs, research and academic institutions, professional bodies, associations and the media.
