Between 4 and 11 May, the Bangladesh Civil Society Alliance for Scaling Up Nutrition brought together over 5,600 participants for one full week of action for nutrition. The event took place across the 7 divisions of Bangladesh and culminated in a high level event in the capital of Dhaka.
An art competition on key aspects of nutrition such as homestead gardening, food allocations for men and women and the importance of a balanced diet and was held in each division with the winning art work exhibited in Dhaka. Civil Society called for nutrition to have a higher status in government and achieved commitment from the Director of Health in the Prime Minister’s office that he would support this effort.
