The updated Global Strategy will be launched in September 2015 and is a roadmap for ending all preventable deaths of women, children, and adolescents by 2030 and improving their overall health and well-being. It will build on new evidence since the original Strategy of 2010, including the need to focus on critical population groups such as newborns, adolescents and those living in fragile and conflict settings. It will also align with the targets and indicators developed for the Sustainable Development Goals framework.
