Analysis of the contributions and economic benefits of breastfeeding in El Salvador
The analysis of the economic contributions and benefits of breastfeeding in El Salvador seeks to estimate the public health savings from reduced use of substitutes and reduced infant morbidity, as well as the costs and benefits to households attributable to the current prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding (EBF), including the costs of feeding with substitutes. In particular, the study aims to estimate the economic contributions and benefits of breastfeeding in two areas: savings to the state and savings to households.
