The 2013 Global Gathering of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement took place on 23 and 24 September at the Asia Society in New York City.

On 23 September the Transform Nutrition Consortium recognised three individuals for their transformative efforts to improve nutrition, health and opportunities for women and children.

On 5 September 2013, Tajikistan became the 42nd country to commit to scaling up nutrition with the SUN Movement.

The Bangladesh Civil Society Network for Promoting Nutrition (BCSNPN) was created on 8 September 2012 and an official launch of this network took place at the CIRDAP auditorium on 19 December 2012. This ceremony brought together around 90 representatives from different ministries, parliament, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), National Nutrition Services (NNS), development partners, United Nations, international and local NGOs, research and academic institutions, professional bodies, associations and the media.

PANITA actively supported the Ministry of Health and other partners to organize activities at the national, regional and districts levels to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.
